The California Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with Interstate 10 construction work from August 1 – 7, 2021
Daytime Work: Monday – Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
NO PLANNED LANE CLOSURES
- Westbound and Eastbound crews continue electrical work, roadway excavation, joint seal improvements and shoulder paving from 8th Street in Banning to SR-111.
Nighttime Work: Sunday – Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
NIGHTTIME ALTERNATING LANE AND RAMP CLOSURES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS – Expect delays, ALLOW ADDITIONAL TIME FOR TRAVEL
- Westbound and Eastbound crews continue paving throughout the entire project from Beaumont to SR-111.
10 DAY RAMP CLOSURES: Due to high winds and poor field conditions the anticipated ramp OPENINGS and CLOSURES may be DELAYED and will begin during nighttime operations.
- Anticipated opening beginning the week of July 29
- Eastbound Ramsey Street on-ramp is closed for improvements.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Hargrave Street.
- Anticipated closure beginning the week of August 1
- Westbound Haugen-Lehman Way on-ramp will be closed for improvements.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use EB I-10, exit Tipton Road and re-enter WB I-10, or Main Street.
- Anticipated opening beginning the week of August 5
- Eastbound Malki Road off-ramp is closed for improvements.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Morongo Trail or Main Street.
- Anticipated opening beginning the week of August 5
- Westbound Malki Road on-ramp is closed for improvements.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Morongo Trail or Main Street.
- Anticipated closure beginning the week of August 5
- Eastbound Hargrave Street on-ramp will be closed for improvements.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use 8th Street.
- Anticipated closure beginning the week of August 5

- Eastbound Morongo Trail off-ramp will be closed for improvements.

- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Malki Road or Main Street.
- Anticipated closure beginning the week of August 15
- Westbound Hargrave Street off-ramp will be closed for improvements.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use 8th Street.
- Anticipated closure beginning the week of August 17
- Westbound Hargrave Street on-ramp will be closed for improvements.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use 8th Street.
- Anticipated closure beginning the week of August 24
- Eastbound Malki Road on-ramp will be closed for improvements.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Morongo Trail or Main Street.
LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURES
- Westbound Haugen-Lehmann Way off-ramp remains closed.
- DETOUR: follow posted detour, continue on Westbound I-10, exit Westbound Main Street, continue on Main Street and re-enter Eastbound I-10, exit Eastbound Haugen-Lehmann Way.
INTERMITTENT CONNECTOR RAMP CLOSURE: EB connector on-ramp to SR-111 may intermittently be closed for roadwork, please use Whitewater/Tipton Road or Indian Canyon Road to access SR-111.
ADVISORY
- Please REDUCE YOUR SPEED when driving throughout the project area.
- ALL RAMPS AND LANES in the project area are subject to BRIEF INTERMITTENT CLOSURES, for staging and other construction improvements.
- LANES are reduced in width to maintain freeway capacity.
- ALL WORK is WEATHER and field condition DEPENDENT.
- Dates and times are SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
- New crossover lane traffic switch is expected to occur in mid-August.
