I-10 Travel Restrictions in Phoenix Area This Weekend

Improvement projects will require closures or other restrictions along Interstate 10 in the Phoenix-area for this weekend. Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather.

The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers allow extra travel time, use caution and consider alternate routes while the following scheduled restrictions are in place:

• Eastbound Interstate 10 closed between the I-17 “Stack” interchange and the State Route 51 “Mini-Stack” interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 20) for tunnel maintenance. Both I-17 ramps to eastbound I-10 at the Stack closed. DETOUR: Eastbound I-10 traffic will detour to southbound I-17 and can reconnect with eastbound I-10 near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
• Westbound Interstate 10 closed between the I-17 “Split” interchange near Sky Harbor Airport and Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 21) for tunnel maintenance. Southbound State Route 51 ramp to westbound I-10 also closed. DETOUR: Westbound I-10 traffic will detour to northbound I-17 near the airport and can reconnect with I-10 at the Stack interchange north of Van Buren Street.
• Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to two lanes near Loop 303 in West Valley from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 20-21) for pavement repair. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be alert for construction crews and equipment. Consider using eastbound McDowell Road or Van Buren Street as alternate routes to travel beyond the I-10 restriction.
• Interstate 10 narrowed to two lanes in both directions between Baseline and Guadalupe roads from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 20) for barrier-wall repairs. DETOUR: Allow extra travel time and be alert for highway workers and equipment in work zones.
