The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) announces that there will be no temporary lane closures on I-10 and other interstate routes statewide during the upcoming Labor Day weekend. To facilitate smooth travel for residents and visitors, and to ensure the safety of the traveling public and maintenance and construction workers, all temporary lane closures will be suspended from Friday, August 30 at 12:00 p.m. thru Monday, September 2 at 11:59 a.m.
By halting lane closures, ALDOT aims to reduce congestion and enhance safety during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.
āLabor Day is a time when motorists take to the roads to enjoy the last days of summer,ā says Allison Green, Drive Safe Alabama coordinator. āBy suspending lane closures, we hope to make the journey safer and less stressful for everyone. Safety is a shared responsibility, and we urge all drivers to remain alert and follow traffic laws.ā
