As part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) I-10 widening project, detours and traffic pacing operations will occur around the I-10/I-95 interchange and I-10 West this week while crews perform overhead sign operations, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. Closure are scheduled from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning:
Closures scheduled Wednesday, December 18 and Thursday, December 19 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning:
- I-95 North to I-10 West on-ramp closed: Drivers will detour to the 8th Street exit and take I-95 South to connect with I-10 West.
- Forest Street to I-10 West on-ramp closed: Drivers will detour to I-95 North, to the 8th Street exit and take I-95 south to connect with I-10 West.
- Stockton Street on-ramp I-10 West closed: Drivers will detour to Edison Avenue and take McDuff Avenue to connect with I-10 West.
- Palm Avenue to I-95 North on-ramp closed: Southbound drivers will detour to Nira Street and take Kings Avenue to connect with I-95 North. Northbound drivers will detour to Prudential Drive and take Kings Avenue to connect with I-95 North.
- Bay Street on-ramp to I-95 South closed: Drivers will detour to Myrtle Avenue and take Kings Road to connect with I-95 South.
Traffic pacing operations are scheduled on I-95 South approaching the I-10 interchange Wednesday, December 18 and Thursday, December 19 between 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the following morning. Drivers approaching the interchange should expect slow speeds and congestion as part of the traffic pacing operation.
Law enforcement will be on the interstates to assist construction crews with the work. Drivers are strongly encouraged to obey their direction and remain vigilant.
This $174.5 million project is scheduled to be completed in summer 2025, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
