The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announced that they’re widening I-10 from I-295 to I-95. This means there will be closures and detours happening from Sunday, April 7 to Thursday, April 11, between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. the next day. Crews will be working on building bridges during this time, as long as the weather allows.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The exit from I-10 West to U.S. 17 (Roosevelt Boulevard) will be closed. Instead, drivers can exit at McDuff Avenue and turn left to reach Roosevelt Boulevard.
  • If you’re trying to get onto I-10 East from U.S. 17, the on-ramp will be closed. Take Edgewood Avenue to Plymouth Street, then use McDuff Avenue to access I-10 East.
  • The on-ramp from Irene Street to I-10 West will also be closed. Drivers should use Edison Avenue and Forest Street to reach I-10 West.
  • For those taking the I-10 West exit to Lane Avenue, you’ll need to detour via I-295 North and Commonwealth Avenue to reach Lane Avenue.
  • If you usually use Cassat Avenue to get onto I-10 East, note that the on-ramp will be closed. Northbound drivers should take Highway Avenue and Luna Street, while southbound drivers can use Lenox Avenue and Luna Street to access I-10 East.

This project, costing $174.5 million, is expected to finish up by early 2025, barring any unexpected issues with the weather or other circumstances.
