The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises motorists of lane closures on I-10 eastbound at the Williams Boulevard (LA 49, exit 223) interchange on Sunday, August 4, which will create significant delays for traffic traveling eastbound on I-10.
Work will take place between 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The right two lanes of I-10 will be repaired, and the interstate’s driving surface will be patched.
Sunday’s closure also includes the I-10 eastbound on-ramp from northbound Williams Boulevard All other ramps on and off of I-10 at Williams Boulevard will remain open.
DOTD advises that significant delays are expected due to the closure and that drivers should allow extra travel time. Alternate routes onto I-10 from Williams Blvd. include taking Veterans Blvd. eastbound to the I-10 east on-ramp. Drivers may also use the southbound Williams Blvd. entrance ramp onto I-10 east. The ramp is accessible after proceeding northbound through the intersection and making a U-turn.
All work is weather permitting.
