The Arizona Department of Transportation reports that motorists traveling in the West Valley should be aware that Interstate 10 is closed overnight at 59th Avenue in west Phoenix for bridge work at the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange.
The closures are scheduled as follows:
- Westbound I-10 closed at 59th Avenue nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning Sunday through Wednesday morning (Nov. 8).
- Eastbound I-10 closed overnight at 59th Avenue from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 7).
- During any closure, traffic will detour along the off- and on-ramps at 59th Avenue.
To avoid delays on I-10, motorists should plan ahead and consider alternate routes, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Alternate routes include Loop 101 west of Interstate 17 or exiting I-10 sooner and taking local streets to re-enter past the closure point.
