The Texas Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with the GO10, Interstate 10 construction project in El Paso:
Sunland Park
27-Hour Closure
Sunday, December 9 at 3:00 a.m. until Monday, December 10 at 6:00 a.m.
- Sunland Park Drive will close in both directions between Machuca Road and the mall signalized intersection.
- All Sunland Park exit ramps and entrance ramps at I-10 will close.
- Paisano Drive (US 85) westbound will close at McNutt Road (NM 273). Detour: Motorists on westbound Paisano Drive (US 85) will exit at McNutt Road (NM 273).
- The Racetrack Drive entrance ramp to westbound Paisano Drive (US 85) will close.
- Lane pattern change: The goal is to open more traffic lanes on the Sunland Park Drive middle overpass.
- Note: This work activity is subject to cancellation. There is a chance that this closure will lift by 8 p.m. the night of December 9.
North Mesa
Sunday, December 9 through Thursday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m. each night to 6:00 a.m. each morning
- North Mesa Street (SH 20) will close in both directions between Remcon Circle and Osborne Drive.
- All North Mesa entrance ramps and exit ramps (Exit 11) at I-10 will close.
- South Desert Boulevard will close between McClintock Drive and North Mesa Street (SH 20).
- McClintock Drive access to South Desert Boulevard will close.
- Crews will be installing concrete pavement on the exit and entrance ramps and on the new westbound to eastbound Texas turnaround lane.
- Possible lane pattern change: On the night of Thursday, Dec. 13, crews will try to put in place a change to traffic lane patterns on North Mesa Street between Remcon and Osborne. This change to traffic patterns is dependent on weather as well as other work activities elsewhere within the GO 10 project limits. On the morning of Friday, December 14, motorists should approach North Mesa Street near the I-10 overpass with caution as traffic lane patterns may have been re-configured.
I-10 West at Executive
Monday, December 10 through Thursday, December 13 from 9:00 p.m. each night to 6:00 a.m. each morning
- I-10 westbound will close between Executive Center Boulevard and Sunland Park Drive.
- The Schuster/UTEP entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will close.
- Detour: Motorists on I-10 westbound will exit at Executive Center (Exit 16), follow Executive Center Boulevard to North Mesa Street, then follow North Mesa to Sunland Park Drive. Motorists may re-enter I-10 westbound via the Sunland Park entrance ramp.
North Mesa
27-Hour Closure
Sunday, December 16 at 3:00 a.m. to Monday, December 17 at 6:00 a.m.
- North Mesa Street (SH 20) will close in both directions between Remcon Circle and Osborne Drive.
- All North Mesa entrance ramps and exit ramps (Exit 11) at I-10 will close.
- South Desert Boulevard will close between McClintock Drive and North Mesa Street (SH 20).
- McClintock Drive access to South Desert Boulevard will close.
- Lane pattern change: The goal is to change traffic lane patterns on North Mesa Street (SH 20) at the I-10 overpass.
- Note: This work activity is subject to change.

North Mesa
27-Hour Closure
Sunday, December 16 at 3:00 a.m. to Monday, December 17 at 6:00 a.m.
- I-10 eastbound will close between Redd Road and Sunland Park Drive.
- The North Mesa Street entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will close.
- Detour: Motorists will exit at Redd Road (Exit 9), follow Redd Road to Doniphan Drive, then follow Doniphan Drive to Sunland Park Drive. Motorists may re-enter I-10 eastbound via the Sunland Park entrance ramp.
- Crews may conduct a traffic switch on I-10 between Resler Drive and North Mesa Street. Motorists can expect to be driving on the mainlanes of I-10 after several months of driving on the collector-distributor (CD) lanes, which run alongside I-10ās mainlanes between Resler Drive and North Mesa Street.
All closures are subject to change or cancellation, and all closure times are approximate.
Exit and entrance ramps may close up to one hour prior to the start time of an I-10 closure.
