Drivers who use Interstate 10 at night near State Route 587 (Casa Blanca Road) in Pinal County should plan on lane and ramp restrictions next week (May 7-11) as I-10 pavement-improvement work continues south of Chandler.
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow extra travel time, consider alternate routes or use caution in the work zones while the following overnight restrictions are in place:
- I-10 narrowed to one lane in both directions overnight in the area approaching the Gila River Bridge east to SR 587 from 7 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday (May 7) for rubberized asphalt paving. Expect intermittent closures of the SR 587 on- and off-ramps at I-10. Delays of up to 15 minutes for the ramp closures.
- DETOUR: Consider using Riggs Road or SR 347 as alternate routes to avoid ramp closures.
- NOTE: Also expect intermittent closures of the SR 587 on- and off-ramps at I-10 from 7 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday (May 8). Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected. Flag crews will be in the area to direct ramp traffic.
- I-10 narrowed to one lane in both directions overnight in the area approaching the Gila River Bridge east to SR 587 from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday (May 9) for rubberized asphalt paving.
- DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes if possible.
- Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane overnight between SR 587 and the Gila River Bridge from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday (May 10) for rubberized asphalt paving. The westbound I-10 on- and off-ramps at SR 587 closed intermittently.
- DETOUR: Consider using Riggs Road or SR 347 as alternate routes to avoid ramp closures.
- Eastbound I-10 narrowed to one lane overnight in the area approaching the Gila River Bridge east to SR 587 from 7 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday (May 11) for rubberized asphalt paving. The eastbound I-10 on- and off-ramps at SR 587 closed intermittently.
- DETOUR: Consider using Riggs Road or SR 347 as alternate routes to avoid ramp closures.
