The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced lane closures have begun for the start of a $17 million project to complete asphalt paving on the I-10 South Service Road, from Green Acres to the Orleans Parish Line. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Friday, July 13, the westbound and eastbound lanes will have alternating lane closures with a flagging operation.

The project is estimated for completion in its entirety in late 2018.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring publicā€™s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.
