Lane, Ramp Closures, Detours for I-10 Construction in Phoenix

The Arizona Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement project. ADOT urges you to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions below are in place. Schedules are always subject to change because of weather or other unforeseen factors.

Weeknight Closures and Restrictions ā€“ Feb. 20-24, 2023

1. Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to three lanes between 24th and 32nd streets from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, for equipment mobilization and freeway camera pole installation. At the same time, the eastbound I-10 on-ramps at 24th and 40th streets will be closed. Use the eastbound I-10 on-ramps at 32nd Street and Broadway Road instead. View map

2. The westbound I-10 on-ramp at 32nd Street will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, for equipment mobilization. Use the westbound I-10 on-ramp at 40th Street instead.

3. East- and westbound US 60 will be narrowed to three lanes between Hardy Drive and I-10 nightly from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. beginning Tuesday, Feb. 21, through the morning of Thursday, Feb. 23, for median lighting work. At the same time, the westbound US 60 HOV ramp to westbound I-10 and the eastbound I-10 HOV ramp to eastbound US 60 will be closed.

4. The eastbound US 60 on-ramp at Priest Drive will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, for wall removal work. Use the eastbound US 60 on-ramp at Mill Avenue instead.

5. The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Ray Road will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, to 4 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22 and again from 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, to 4 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, for barrier work. Use the eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Chandler Boulevard instead.

6. Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes between 48th Street and Broadway Road nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Wednesday, Feb. 22, through the morning of Friday, Feb. 24, for barrier work.

7. Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes between Broadway Road and 48th Street from 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, to 4 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, for barrier work. At the same time, the westbound US 60 HOV ramp to westbound I-10 will be closed.

8. The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Warner Road will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, to 4 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, for barrier work. Use the eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Ray Road instead.

Weekend Closures and Restrictions ā€“ Feb. 24-27, 2023

1. 32nd Street will be closed in both directions between Wood and Elwood streets from 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, to 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, for work zone set up. At the same time, the on- and off-ramps at 32nd Street will be closed. Drivers should use the on- and off-ramps at 40th Street or the off-ramp at 24th Street instead.

Northbound 32nd Street detour: Drivers on northbound 32nd Street should use eastbound Broadway Road to northbound 40th Street to westbound University Drive to access 32nd Street north of the closure.

Southbound 32nd Street detour: Drivers on southbound 32nd Street should use eastbound University Drive to southbound 40th Street to westbound Broadway Road to access 32nd Street south of the closure.

2. Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes between Broadway Road and 48th Street from 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, to 4 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, for barrier work.

3. Broadway Road will be closed in both directions between 55th and 48th streets from 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, to 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, for ramp reconfiguration. At the same time, the following ramps will be closed:

  • Eastbound I-10 connector ramp between 48th Street and Broadway Road.
  • Westbound I-10 on- and off-ramps at Broadway Road.

Drivers will not be able to access Broadway Road from 52nd Street and should use University Drive instead.

Eastbound Broadway Road detour: Drivers on eastbound Broadway Road who need to access eastbound Broadway Road should use southbound 48th Street to eastbound Southern Avenue to northbound Priest Drive to access Broadway Road east of the closure.

Westbound Broadway Road detour: Drivers on westbound Broadway Road who need to access westbound Broadway Road should use northbound Priest Drive to westbound University Drive to southbound State Route 143 to access Broadway Road west of the closure.

Eastbound I-10 to eastbound Broadway Road detour: Drivers on eastbound I-10 who need to access eastbound Broadway Road should use eastbound Baseline Road to northbound Priest Drive to access Broadway east of the closure.

Westbound I-10 to eastbound Broadway Road detour: Drivers on westbound I-10 who need to access eastbound Broadway Road should use northbound State Route 143 to eastbound University Drive to southbound Priest Drive to access Broadway Road east of the closure.

Westbound I-10 to westbound Broadway Road detour: Drivers on westbound I-10 who need to access westbound Broadway Road should use westbound I-10 to southbound 40th Street to access Broadway Road west of the closure.

4. Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes between Broadway Road and 48th Street and westbound US 60 will be narrowed to one lane between Hardy Drive and I-10 from 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, to 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, for barrier work. At the same time, the westbound I-10 off- and on-ramps at Broadway Road will be closed. Use the westbound I-10 off- and on-ramps at 40th Street instead.

Construction Alerts

Nov. 7, 2022 ā€“ Feb. 24, 2023

The closure of Diablo Way in both directions between Alameda and Fairmont drives has been extended to Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, for utility relocation work. Business access will remain open and the Interstate10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project team will continue to provide adequate access for deliveries and first responders in case of an emergency. Please use caution around construction personnel and equipment.

Northbound detour: Use westbound Fairmont Drive to northbound 52nd Street, to eastbound Alameda Drive to access Diablo Way north of the closure.

Southbound detour: Use westbound Alameda Drive to southbound 52nd Street to eastbound Fairmont Drive to access Diablo Way south of the closure.

Plan for the long-term closure of the westbound Interstate 10 off-ramp at 32nd Street

The westbound I-10 off-ramp at 32nd Street will close Saturday, March 4, through Tuesday, April 25.
The westbound I-10 off-ramp at 32nd Street will be closed at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, for ramp reconfiguration. This closure is expected to last through 10 p.m. Tuesday, April 25. Use the westbound I-10 off-ramp at 40th or 24th streets instead.

Northbound 32nd Street at I-10 will close March 3-6.
Northbound 32nd Street will be closed between I-10 and Elwood Street from 10 p.m. Friday, March 3, to 4 a.m. Monday, March 6, for work zone set up. Use 40th Street instead.
