The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announces a closure of the I-10 eastbound Diamondhead exit ramp (Exit 16) in Hancock County.
This closure is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, until the completion of the project, estimated to take approximately 4-6 weeks. Detour signage has been strategically placed to guide motorists. Drivers are advised to follow the designated detour route via Exit 20 and merge onto I-10 W to access Exit 16.
As part of an interchange reconstruction initiative, the existing ramp will be removed and replaced with a two-lane configuration. While alternative routes are available, motorists are reminded to exercise caution and remain attentive to the presence of roadside workers.
