The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development recently announced that beginning Sunday, April 1, construction will begin on an $18 million project on I-10 from LA 347 (Atchafalaya Basin Bridge) to LA 77 (Grosse Tete) in St. Martin and Iberville Parishes.

The work is estimated to take place 24 hours/day with intermittent lane closures throughout the project with 15 minute intervals during the day for unloading and loading equipment.

In addition, intermittent single lane closures will take place nightly on Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and Sundays from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., weather permitting.

The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.

US 190 may be used as an alternate route.

The project will include cleaning, painting, and repairing of concrete and metal bridge structures and related work.

The project is estimated for completion in June 2019.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
