On Monday, March 10, the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project opened an additional High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane along eastbound I-10 between I-17 and US 60 in Phoenix. Crews also opened a new bridge that connects the westbound I-10 HOV lanes to northbound State Route 143 and southbound SR 143 to the eastbound I-10 HOV lanes. Finally, workers opened an additional southbound SR 143 lane between the Salt River and I-10.
Crews plan to open an additional HOV lane along westbound I-10 between US 60 and I-17 in April, so drivers can expect closures and restrictions to continue through the spring. While having more lanes reduces congestion, please remember that the speed limit in the work zone is still 55 MPH, and we request your cooperation to ensure everyone gets home safely.
