Nighttime Lane Closures, Ramp Closures, Detours for I-10 Work in Banning

The California Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with the “I-10 Tune Up” project from March 7 through March 13, 2021.

Daytime Work: Monday ā€“ Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

NO PLANNED LANE CLOSURES

  • Eastbound crews continue work on signage placement, electrical work, temporary restriping, grading, and roadway demolition and excavation improvements from 8th Street in Banning to SR-111.
  • Eastbound crews working on roadway demolition and excavation on the outside lanes and shoulders from Main Street in Cabazon to SR-111.

Nighttime Work: Sunday ā€“ Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

NIGHTTIME ALTERNATING LANE CLOSURES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS ā€“ Expect Delays

  • Westbound crews continue work on paving and grading from SR-111 to Main Street in Cabazon.
  • Eastbound crews continue working on restriping and k-rail placement from 8th Street in Banning to Main Street in Cabazon.
  • Eastbound crews continue roadway excavation from Main Street in Cabazon to SR-111.

ADVISORY: Motorists should anticipate a new Westbound crossover lane from Main Street in Cabazon to 8th Street in Banning beginning the week of March 7. The Eastbound crossover lane is no longer available.

INTERMITTENT CONNECTOR RAMP CLOSURE: Eastbound connector on-ramp to SR-111 may intermittently be closed for roadwork, please use Whitewater/Tipton Road or Indian Canyon Road to access SR-111.

LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURE: Through May, 2021

  • Eastbound Haugen-Lehman on-ramp will be closed for ramp improvements and other construction activities.
  • Eastbound Detour: please use Main Street on-ramp via Railroad Avenue to access EB I-10.
  • Alternate detour: enter WB I-10 Haugen-Lehman on-ramp, exit Main Street, re-enter EB I-10 on-ramp to continue east.

REMINDER: PLEASE REDUCE YOUR SPEED WHEN DRIVING THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT AREA.
