The California Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts on the I-10 Pavement Rehabilitation Project through Friday, November 12, 2021. Note: *There will be NO construction activities on Thursday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
Daytime Work: Monday– Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
DAYTIME RAMP CLOSURES – USE ALTERNATE ROUTES, ALLOW ADDITIONAL TIME FOR TRAVEL
- No planned lane closures during daytime hours.
- EB crews continue electrical work, roadway excavation and demolition, and shoulder paving operations from Beaumont Avenue in Beaumont to Hargrave Street in Banning.
- WB crews continue electrical work, roadway excavation and demolition, and paving operations from SR-111 to Ramsey Street in Banning.
ONE-DAY RAMP CLOSURES from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Due to colder nighttime temperatures the following pavement operations must be performed during daytime work hours:
- Anticipated one day closure, Monday, November 8
- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- WB Malki Road on and off-ramps will be closed.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Morongo Trail.
- Anticipated one day closure, Tuesday, November 9
- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- EB Morongo Trail on and off-ramps will be closed.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Malki Road or Main Street.
- Anticipated one day closure, Wednesday, November 10
- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- WB Morongo Trail on and off-ramps will be closed.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Malki Road or Main Street.
- Anticipated one day closure, Friday, November 12
- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- EB Malki Road on and off-ramps will be closed.
- ALTERNATE ROUTE: please use Morongo Trail.
Nighttime Work: Sunday – Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
NIGHTTIME ALTERNATING LANE AND RAMP CLOSURES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS – Expect delays, ALLOW ADDITIONAL TIME FOR TRAVEL
- EB and WB crews will be performing grinding and paving operations from Pennsylvania Avenue in Beaumont to Main Street in Cabazon.
TRAFFIC SWITCH The EB crossover lane from just east of Beaumont Avenue in Beaumont to Hargrave Street in Banningis available for motorists. There are no exits in the crossover lane and no trucks towing trailers, RV’s or busses permitted.
LONG-TERM RAMP CLOSURES
- Anticipated opening beginning mid-March 2022.
- EB Sunset Avenue on-ramp remains closed for improvements, closure assists with freeway capacity.
- DETOUR: please use EB 22nd Street or EB 8th Street on-ramps to access the EB I-10.
FUEL SPILL CLEAN-UP ONGOING RAMP CLOSURE Clean-up work continues since the Sept. 1 incident.
- EB Hargrave Street on-ramp remains closed.
- EB 8th Street and EB Ramsey Street on-ramps are subject to closures as needed for clean-up operations related to this incident.
- Please use alternate routes.
INTERMITTENT CONNECTOR RAMP CLOSURE EB connector on-ramp to SR-111 may intermittently be closed for roadwork, please use Whitewater/Tipton Road or Indian Canyon Road to access SR-111.

- REDUCE YOUR SPEED throughout the project area.
- LANES ARE REDUCED IN WIDTH TO MAINTAIN FREEWAY CAPACITY.
- ALL RAMPS AND LANES in the project area are subject to BRIEF INTERMITTENT CLOSURES, for staging and other construction improvements.
- ALL WORK is WEATHER and field condition DEPENDENT.
- Dates and times are SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
